movie review

woah there sena, that was a lot of words you typed there on this blog. i am truly amazed (:

ok so, THE LORD OF THE RINGS!!!!!!!!!!
the 1st movie has been our for a few years and up until now i never saw any of the movies.
~the reason why? you ask? : since it was called lord of the rings, i thought it had something to do with wrestling like a wrestling ring type thing so...yeah
BUT now that i know it is a fantasy type awesome movie  like Harry Potter, Narnia, Inkheat, etc.
So after watching it in 2012, i have decided to rate it on Sena's suggestion. I'm gonna try to make it looke very professional-like.
I would give  this movie a  ★★★★★ out of 5 stars
It had great special effects, characters, as well as intense music.
If I had a word to describe it, it would be EPIC.I would like to point out that i rarely use the word epic because there are only a few thins I find that fit the criteria of the connotative meaning of the word epic.
( its dictionary definiton is basically a long poem dedicated to heroes or gods.) I feel that Elijah Wood did a wonderful job as the leading character and really portrayed a great interpretation on Frodo's behavior. My favorite part of the movie was of course when Gandolf showed great bravery when yelling " YOU SHALL NOT PASS! "
thats all for now on the review

Oh yeah and earlier today I made a connection to the lord of the rings: I was at my house when I hit my head on a chandelier and said " I feel like Gandolf at Bilbo's house! "

Later on I will write a review on the book (:
seeya!

PS. by the way it is like 1:31 in the morning right now and i'm wide awake and can't sleep ): pooey, I guess I will just listen to the songwide awake

now since I'm wide awake (:

archery.

so archery is seriously going up the popularity ranks. which is pretty impressive considering it is a sport that dates back to a long long long time ago, all the way back to stone spears. and to those who were like "i was into archery before it was cool.", i will give you a standing ovation. because i completely totally cannot be one of these "cool" archers. even under the circumstances where a professional superstar archer/ katniss/ merida was training me, i would still like shoot myself or someone in the face and then the arrow would get lost in the ocean somewhere. yep, im that clumsy. but back to the archery comeback. let's see how archery has recently affected pop culture.

for the most recent happenings, the Olympics! the sport of archery, thanks to The Hunger Games, has risen in popularity. Jennifer Lawerence AKA katniss everdeen's shooting skills were thanks to coaching by 5 time olympian, Khatuna Lorig, who trained her for the movie. And today Lorig advanced to Round 8 in the games!

Now into the magic of movies. Archery's role in movies is the main reason behind it's so crazy popular.  There's The Hunger Games (which  i hope you know about. you should.) causing teens to pull their hair into braids and take up archery at any cost. Then in Avengers, they featured Hawkeye, the superhero version played by Jeremy Renner (who btw is gonna be in Bourne Legacy). But the most recent and probably may be my favorite is Brave.

Brave, is Pixar's latest movie with their first female lead, Merida. Merida is a fiery and rebellious girl who doesn't want to follow the path that people want her to take or play by any of the rules. and i'm totally obsessed. She's determined, adventurous, has a cool horse, is totally KICK BUTT with bow and arrows, and has great hair. If only i could animate my hair to be like that and it would look good. It makes me wanna be a scottish princess, sigh.  The whole movie is classic Pixar with amazing animated landscapes , the awesomesauce characters, a pretty soundtrack with Birdy and Mumford & Sons (omigod heck YEAH.) and great plot. I saw this a couple weeks ago and was totally glued the whole time (which was expected, since im a pixar geek ) so if you haven't seen it GO NOW! JUST GO! (is it even still in theaters though?)

that's all for now

DON'T PANIC.

hello there! its sena... and being a pop-culture fangirl, its time for me to start talking about movies! and this week i love HITCHHIKER"S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. i mean those who are true fans will start to argue that "OH its a TV show first and before that there were books  and there was a radio show and and and.. the movie was such a ripoff!" But the movie was pretty darn funny though and i haven't even seen the stuff from before.

So the movie is about  a guy named Arthur who in the WHOLE movie is in his pajamas. He escapes with his friend Ford, just before the earth is completely blown  up by aliens. They hitchhike on a spaceship and travel around searching for the ultimate question to the meaning of life.

Some parts were really stupid, but it was good ironic stupid. And I love irony.

For example:
  • there is a manically depressed robot named marvin in it. He is hilarious and has the best lines.
  • Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything is 42. enough said.
  • missiles are about to fly into their starship and then turn into a bowl of petunias.
  • the celebrity status obsessed "president"  Zaphod, has the earth destroyed, because he signs the paper doing so, thinking it was for an autograph.
  • they can lose "normality." such as suddenly turning into yarn.
  • a whale falls out of the sky and dolphins fly up out of the earth.
  • ZOOEY DESCHANEL (the best person ever.) is in it.
  • towels= shields
