mascots?

                      

as the olympics is soon coming to a close i must talk about the mascots. apparently the olympic mascots for this year, look like this. and honestly i don't get it. just why? WHY?! i didn't even see them in the opening ceremony, which is good i guess...but i really don't understand. is this really what kids like?

so i watched the short film for the mascots and was just weirded out. so this grandpa is retiring from his job at a steel factory and on his last day he takes home two pieces of steel. then he spends the night turning them into little figurines for his grandkids. when he gives them to his grandchildren, for some reason they are really happy to be getting the alien-like one eyed sausages with arms and helmets and takes them to their room. it is then when a rainbow miraculously fills their room and hits the mascots in the face and they become ALIVE. afterwards they play with the children but then realize their mission is to go to the olympics or something and they run away on a giant rainbow. the end. 

normal? i think not. and did i mention that their names are wenlock and mandeville, of all things?? 

so what do you think the mascots are like? cute? freaky? comment! 

i cant wait for the closing ceremonies though. i love british music. and spice girls are supposed to perform. weird again.
