november: currently listening to

first off, i'm completely and totally in love with a band called GIVERS. their music just makes you smile. and i like smiling. 

coming from louisiana, this band is Kirby Campbell (drums/samples/vocals), Taylor Guarisco (guitar/vocals), Tif Lamson (vocals/percussion/ukulele), Josh Leblanc (bass), and William Henderson (synths/samples/vocals). they clearly have a really big variety of musical influences, because their sound is really unique and like nothing you've ever heard before. 

In Light, which is their first full length album is filled with just plain happy music. It's the kind of music you would add to your "dance around your living room/bedroom/area in your living space, like a total idiot" playlist. (i recommend up,up,up, words, or ceiling of plankton) 

also if you get the chance watch some of the youtube videos of them playing live. they are so energetic and passionate with their music. i mean, taylor is so into the music that his face looks like he's having a seizure, and you have to realize that he's singing, not dying. or this video, where they are playing a show in someones kitchen. and tif, makes me want a ukulele even more..even though i have no idea how to play. 

another band that i've been obsessed with this year for the past like 4 months is daughter. words cannot describe how beautiful every single one of their songs. guess you can only listen to it yourself.. kind of like where the wild things are........

well that's basically my main two favorite things this month. i've also gotten back into arcade fire...and fleet foxes. you should listen to THIS and THIS. 

oh and this. is it bad that i am addicted to this?
