An Asian New Year

so if you even remember, we had a guest blogger, rohit. well, that was...sucessful....(no...) so we've temporarily brought in a new guest blogger, which is our friend mark! so here's his post!

Hello! My name is Mark and I shall be a guest blogger on This Is Me Being Clever. Since this blog consists of mostly girls I shall bring my own guy perspective :). Anyways, let’s get started!

Every year, New Year’s means a lot of preparation for us Asians. The worst part of New Year’s preparations is the relative dinner. It’s basically an Asian tradition that all relatives go to one dim sum place. It’s basically like a game. Since there are like thirty people there, no one wants to pay the bill. You want to avoid the bill at all costs. I’m here to teach you how to shield yourself from you piggy bank turning into a skinny little pork chop.
When it is time to pay the bill, ask to go to the bathroom. Say you’re taking a gigantic steaming dump. If you do that, people aren’t going to argue with you, since you’ve gained like… 30 pounds of food in your stomach. To make sure people won’t ask you to pay the bill, you have to act as if it’s urgent. The bad part is that they’ll probably just wait for you… since they are Asians of course.
Another tactic is to blame the person next to you for not paying for the last five thousand dim sum dinners. If that happens, your relatives will strike into an argument and you can sneak away when nobody notices. :)
If all else fails, there is only one strategy left for you to use. Just pay the bill. After all, you only see your relatives on New Year’s. Just have a good time and happy holidays. :D
