it's thanksgiving apparently.

so in the last post, angela talked about how no one cares that it's going to be thanksgiving next
week.well that's a lie, because there's this new video that came out that you might of heard of, by the makers of that other video you might have heard of: "friday". yep. this time the song is called "it's thanksgiving" and is sung by another child who thinks she's going to become a pop star whose name is nicole westbrook. not only has this guy aka that producer patrice wilson, wrote a song that taught me the days of the week, but has now also taught me all of the holidays   all in a autotuned tween pop "song". EDUCATIONAL! so maybe it's a little bit better than friday, but it still contains the same bad grammar, lyrics that are just plain stupid, and a video that makes no sense whatsoever.

so for example here are some of the many reasons why this doesn't make any sense. first off, WHY DOES SHE ENJOY THANKSGIVING SO MUCH? i don't think any child is actually going "oh my god, did you know thanksgiving is my all time favorite holiday ever? i just love it so so so so much, let's go decorate for it!" no! sure there might be someone but i'm pretty sure the majority of kids aren't going to say they think thanksgiving is their favorite holiday. also, why is she cooking the entire thanksgiving feast/meal alone. without any parents. in a silent house. and the lyrics confuse me too. is she saying "turkey AYE mashed potatoes AYE" or egg? or eh? i honestly don't know. then we go back to "friday" with the "we we we" lyrics. after that the video goes to these other clips, where for some reason she is throwing parties for every major holiday with her friends with no parents. she's like 10. is she a rich orphan or something? and then this is where it's actually funny, a strange middle age man just comes out of nowhere at all of these parties and starts singing. who is he?! what is he doing there? OH whoa. that's that guy who was driving that car in friday. oh that's the producer? blame his face for this video. ok and then the doorbell rings for her thanksgiving...party.. and he's there again IN A TURKEY COSTUME. why would she let him in? under any condition would you let a grown man in a turkey costume into your house. and then she starts rapping. oh.my. gravy (that made no sense). ok the lyrics are "can't be hateful, gotta be gratefu;. mashed potatoooess" ooh. that was..deep....even her "friends" look horrified. and the guy. yeah he's sitting there still dressed like a turkey eating TURKEY happily., with these..kids. and then nicole sings into a turkey drumstick. yes.  then it finally ends.

well then.

so i don't know what to say about this video. so i guess you can watch it. or not. or you can go watch a video of a llama. (i recommend the llama)

don't forget to comment below your reactions to the video or something like that!

goodbye my mermaid friends,

ps. you know that time when you walk home and there's a mustache car in your driveway? it happened

christmas?

for some strange reason, people are already obsessing over Christmas:
people are already putting up their lights( i swear some people just leave them up all year!)
people are already asking: hey whaddaya want for Christmas?

but SERIOUSLY people, its still November. Thanksgiving isn't even here yet, but i don't see people going around wearing pilgrim hats and saying stuff like: didya get the cranberry sauce ready?

that was just a short little rant
i got nothing right now...so here's some random stuff to entertain you :)

thought of the day:
Why doesn't McDonald's sell hotdogs?

Look Alikes

In this world there are 7,038,044,500 (as of September, 8 2012.)
so out of that huge number, there is bound to be at least one person who looks like you. Everyone keeps telling me that since I already have a twin, I don't have to go out and look for a look alike, BUT just to keep things clear: WE LOOK NOTHING ALIKE!!!! there was this one kid who even didn't know we were related after two years of knowing us!  I've always wondered if there was someone out there who really looked like me. And if there was, where would that person be...
Everyone always says stuff like:
"You are one of a kind!"
" There is nobody out there that looks like you."
etc, etc, details, details , and more details.
BUT they might be wrong. Just think, out of the billions of people out there, someone could be walking around with your exact face!!!
What if you looked like a celebrity out there? Don't you think that strangers would come up to you and ask for autographs?

apparently there are even celebrity look alike contests!
i don't agree with all of these but some of them like the Eddie Murphy one are really similar.
there is a similarity here, but we <3 meekakitty!
hehe more celebrity lookalikes with youtube stars: this one is kinda look a like-ish
what's similar here is their face shapes and hairstyle and...a lot of things
these are 6 people that look alike!!! they're not even related and they look more like sisters than my own TWIN!!!

Thought of the day:
this one is actually more of a "TRY THIS OUT" of the day type thing:

ok then seeya!

meggings.

so remember that time when i did a post on socks? and i said that my brother called super stretchy tube socks, "meggings"? well little did i know that meggings are indeed the real thing. not even joking. there is such thing is a man legging. if you thought jeggings were bad, wait until you discover the wonders of tight male pants. i question the minds of people who wear leggings. luckily i have not encountered these in real life, and i hope i never will. although maybe this is a step away from those dangerously tight skinny jeans that some guys wear. maybe now with meggings those boy bands (or teen singer/celebrities) will be able to bend their legs and sit down. comfortable fashion i guess....

for more info see here

anyways i don't know if you're horrified or just confused, but this is real.

th-th-th-th-th-th- that's all folks (catch the reference?)

All about Flo

okay so i was just searching a picture of a poem for school , when i stumbled across this picture..notice anyone you know??

yup your eyes weren't fooling you, that person photoshopped in the background is Flo from progressive!
I'm not necessarily advertising progressive.. because that would be totally crazy, but you have to admit you love her.

anyways, there are people out there who love her so much that they'll dress up as her for Halloween! i hope that i'll get to see a kid dressing up as flo..
.
That reminds me what will you guys be for halloween?

thought of the day:
this one is really common, but people still have debates on this: which came first the chicken or the egg??

strange fruit

okay we all know what fruits are right? if you don't......then you should seriously get out more often!
anyways, whenever i go to foreign places i always see strange new fruit.
Also if you are a person who stumbled along this post when searching for Strange Fruit the poem, you are kind of out out of luck because i am talking about the fruits you eat... not the people who hang themselves (see poem for reference)
okay enough of those dark thoughts, depending on where you live, you will see some fruits that you think are weird. for example here in america, the fruits from Asia may seem a little peculiar and maybe even creepy.
here are some fruits that are pretty strange and the stories behind them:
these are apparently called rose apples, and when i first tried them in Vietnam i had a truly horrifying and traumatizing experience. this fruit actually taste okay, but when i first tried the rose apple, there happened to be little moving things in there (bugs) and it was NASTY!!! After i realized there were bugs in that fruit, i grabbed all the water bottles and started rinsing my mouth. All the while, i was in an amusement park where people started staring at me. Its really weird how people always catch me doing weird looking things ):
these are also apparently a type of  "apple"
these strange green fruit are called custard apples, but i don't see what's so custardy about them.
This fruit from Asia that i don't really like. i guess the reason why is that it is just too sweet and bumpy and creepy feeling. Also this picture is misleading because the ones i saw were pretty mushy and weird.i don't know why, but suddenly this post is all about the weird foreign fruits that i don't like because this fruit is another asian fruit that i hate. DURIANS! you either hate them or love them- i myself do not like them.
here are the top 10 reasons why:
1.) it smells terrible: even some hotels won't allow you to bring durian in because of the smell
2.) its spiky: you could die if it fell on your head
3.) the edible part is all mushy like poo
4.) the seeds look like poo
5.) it makes you gain weight like crazy: there are apparently a lot of carbohydrates
6.) if you eat it with wine or alcohol, it would be deadly: MEANING YOU COULD DIE!
7.) they look like pufferfish
okay actually i couldn't come up with 10 full reasons, but still boo you durians!
finally, i found some type of strange looking fruit that actually tastes good! These alien looking things are called rambutan and i always thought that they were some kind of lychees that went through a strange mutation, growing random spikes.
MANGOSTEEN! i don't see how these fruits have anything to do with mangos, but they are still pretty cool. the taste is okay, but the coolest part bout this is that the white "bulbs" on the inside form a cute little flower (:
anyways, those are all the weird fruits for now! always be open to try new things, before you decide you hate them of love them. also any suggestions for other strange fruits? comment below!

here is a thought for today:

Wreck This Journal (#1)

it's the first post in my wreck this journal series! i've done a couple pages so far and i'm pretty happy with them. and today i'm going to share the ones i've done with you guys! as you can see from the above picture that the side's have been slightly destroyed already! but the pages inside look cool. so here they are (sorry if the pictures are bad quality...) :

the instructions page:

not really a page but i wanted to show you the instructions to the book.

press leaves and other found things here:

i liked this one because since it's fall out right now, i was able to find lots of different colored leaves when i took a walk. but i made the mistake of using cheap tape when i pressed them in and it masked all the colors out. on the last leaf i taped in (top upper left corner) i used good clear tape and the colors looked much better.

scratch with a sharp object:

this one turned out really good surprisingly. i used a paper clip to scratch in all the triangles which was really hard. i tried using a exactoknife but it cut through the page and didn't create the same look as the paper clip. also when i finished there was tons of fuzzy stuff all over my desk and floor. i guess paper is fuzzy? as you can probably tell, i love triangles.

ask a friend to do something destructive to this page. don't look. :

basically i handed my book to my friends, left and this happened. end of story.

color outside the lines:

this one is probably my favorite. coloring outside the lines basically describes me! so what i did for this one is since it started out as a circle, i drew in the dream catcher first, then used watercolours to create the stripes. outside the lines of course. here is another pic from before the watercolour to show the details...

anyways that's all for this post. wreck this journal series #2 may take a while but i promise it will come eventually! comment below which is your favorite page of this post!

love,
sena
ps. im convinced that if my life was a movie, the ending credits song would most definitely be now is the start by a fine frenzy. i can't over that song.... and it makes sense because the end is the start for something else..... just wanted to say that.. ok...

the voice.

so i will let you know i don't exactly like reality tv shows or competitions.  but i do make an exception for the voice, the sing off (when it was still alive.) and maybe some cooking show or something. anyways i haven't watched any episodes of the season 3 blind auditions yet at all, because i'm busy, and i have no idea what's going on except i did watch one clip of melanie martinez (who did the best "toxic" rendition ever. she's the next dia framps or lindsey pavao for sure.) . but i read a recap on the voice, and was super surprised to read off some names i recognized.

1. Jordan Pruitt
oh my. disney fans you out there?! anyone remember the read it and weep days? or jump in with keke palmer and corbin bleu? so if you remember that, do you remember the singer jordan pruitt? she used to be my all-time favorite singer like ever in 3rd and 4th grade. i remember memorizing all the lyrics to my shoes or jump to the rhythm, and listening to the permission to fly album a billion times. im not really sure why i liked her so much, but i really liked her until i forgot about her. so back to the voice. i find out now that not only is she alive and still singing but is on The Voice on team xtina. what?

REMEMBER THIS?
2.Cassadee Pope.

In like 5th grade, I learned about Hey Monday and was listening to their album nonstop. i tried to tell people about it but they just thought it was weird. Well LOOK AT HER NOW! apparently she's on the voice too. and 4 judges turned. and in 7th grade she was even in a video we watched in health! but still even then no one knew about her. i don't like her as much anymore. but still. you get my point.

REMEMBER THIS?
3. Leila Broussard

i've been a big fan of leila broussard, for a couple years now. i think that she is the most amazing singer and songwriter and the entire masquerade album is so good. and i used to be seriously obsessed with the song satellite. anyways as you can tell from this whole post, she's on the voice too. which im sad because i can't say i'm the only person who knows (not that i am or anything), but im happy that she can gain new fans in the voice process.

anyways looks like im going to have to watch the voice because it looks extremely interesting all of a sudden. i still can't get over the whole jordan pruitt thing. man, i was such a big fan... back in the day like 200 years ago.

well that's all for now.

love, sena
ps. remember when angela posted the call me maybe in chinese video? guess what? in chinese class we have to make a music video to it. seriously. no joke.

socks.

okay,  so today i'm gonna be talking about a very serious subject. SOCKS. specifically, middle school age- guy's socks. you know that statement that people make, "oh guys don't care about their appearance, or how what they wear." well that is SO not true. and it's all proven true by the socks.

so it all started, one day (FLASHBACK! cue wayne's world sound effect! anyone get that? no? ok..) when i was walking behind a group of guys and i noticed they all were wearing black Nike socks with white stripes (band alert.) things on the back. then i started to look around at other guys' socks (yeah i'm NOT creepy okay....) and noticed that like every single guy was wearing black or other colors (not white) on  Nike socks. so basically they do care about how they look, because otherwise why would they all be adding on to this trend? and considering they are all wearing Nike, they also care about brands. my friend and i were watching this big group of guys
on the basketball court, playing a game...without a basketball. so as they were playing their game of invisible basketball, which is already sad as it is, but they were jumping up to try (but failing, keep in mind a lot of these people are really tall.) and touch the hoop. at first i just thought that was just stupid. but i thought about it, and my theory about this was that they were jumping up to show off their socks. since your socks are on your feet ,people can't see them right? jump up, and they're much more easy for others to see. so turning the basketball court into a little runway for your feet.

my younger brother recently bought a pair of these plain black nike socks before school, so i had to ask him about the trend, since he's a new middle school guy. i asked him about the black socks with white things on the back and he said: "oh yeah, those are so cool, and they're really stretchy and can be pulled like way past your knee. they are like man leggings. you could call them meggings." direct quote.

anyways, i guess cause i'm a girl, i don't know what is with the mysterious club of socks. but i think there should really be a ban on wearing shorts with socks hiked up to your thighs. honestly? not cool.
